about

hyper.sensei is the alter ego of swedish multiinstrumentalist, composer and arranger Martin Högberg. He works as a freelance guitarist and musical educator in northern Norway.

Forged in the chaos of the first covid lockdown during the summer of 2020, songs for the universally distressed started out as a simple exploration of how to sonically combine sample-based electronica with electric guitars. However, it quickly grew into an obsession with what was suddenly one of the only remaining avenues of creative endeavour: the process of writing and recording music alone, at home. Most of the music was recorded at night, and the endless summer nights of coastal northern Norway infused a lot of the music with an ethereal, unreal quality… the soundtrack to a half-forgotten dream of maritime landscapes, strewn with the remnants of life as we once knew it.
